iPod Project Overview 

AustinISD began implementing iPod projects during the 2006-2007 school year. Teachers reported positive results such as increased student motivation, more time on task, higher levels of understanding of course content and increased test scores. Because of the student's ability to “rewind the teacher” on the iPod, students had repeated opportunities to access information resulting in more detailed note taking and more ownership of their learning.

The teachers involved in the project had a renewed enthusiasm for using technology in their classrooms and as a result were more willing to try new teaching techniques that fundamentally changed their delivery of instruction. After the pilot year, one teacher stated that the iPod was such a powerful tool that he could not imagine teaching without it.
